facility use policy

  1. Groups or person(s) requesting facility use must affirm that their beliefs and practices and planned use of facilities are consistent with the faith and practices of Norwood Baptist Church.

  2. The group or person(s) seeking to use the grounds or building facilities must submit a signed and dated "Norwood Baptist Church Facility Reservation Request and Agreement" form.

  3. The group or person(s) seeking facility use must be willing to take responsibility for the facilities and equipment used and agree to abide by the rules of Norwood Baptist for their use.




Scheduling Events

Facility use request must be made to the "Events Coordinator". The "Norwood Baptist Church Facility Reservation Request and Agreement" form will be given to them. The Events Coordinator will check the church calendar and if dates are available will send completed forms to pastor for his approval. If pastor is unavailable the chairman of the deacons assumes this responsibility. Only after this approval is event placed on calendar and the Events Coordinator notifies the requesting group or person(s).


Facility Use Times

Facilities are available between the hours of 9:00 a. m. and 11:00 p.m. Use outside these hours must be approved by Events Coordinator and Pastor. Any change to schedule times originally approved must also be reapproved.



The only fees associated with the use of church facilities is a refundable deposit of $200.00 for facility cleaning if church fells like their facilities are not cleaned properly after use. This deposit is waved if they are a member of Norwood Baptist Church.

Facility Use Guidelines

  1. Alcohol Policy: No alcohol may be permitted on church grounds or served in any church facilities.

  2. Smoking Policy: Smoking (including smokeless tobacco products) in any church facility is prohibited and is discouraged on all church property. Those that do smoke outside are asked to dispose of the cigarette butts properly.

  3. Weapons: Guns, knives, or any object brought on church premises for the intent of harming another human is prohibited. Weapons may only be used by authorized, trained, and licensed church appointed personnel.

  4. Illegal Drugs: Are prohibited and if used or possessed on church grounds may lead to legal actions.

  5. Groups or persons are restricted to only those areas that they have reserved.

  6. No food are beverages are allowed in the sanctuary.

  7. Food and beverages are allowed in the classrooms, but you are responsible for cleanup.

  8. Church equipment, such as tables and chairs, must be returned to original placement before leaving event. Any damaged church equipment is to be reported.

  9. All cooking equipment, lights, and thermostats must be turned off when leaving event.

  10. All entrance and exit doors are be locked when leaving event and if you have keys they are to be turned in.

  11. Church facilities are to be cleaned up immediately following event. Unless given special permission by events coordinator. If you fail to clean up you will forfeit your deposit. This is determined by events coordinator.

  12. Abusive or foul language, violent behavior are strictly prohibited on all church property and all persons exhibiting such behavior will be asked to leave.

  13. If nursery is used you must provide your own workers unless arrangements with events coordinator are made. Special cleaning is required in this room.

  14. If sound system or projector is used only qualified, trained church personnel may operate it. These arrangements must be made thru events coordinator.

  15. The Pastor/Deacons reserve the right to cancel all or part of any event that has been Scheduled in the case of an extreme emergency or dangerous situation that they believe may harm life or damage facilities.

  16. Groups or Persons using facilities are fully liable and must pay for any damage equipment belonging to Norwood Baptist Church.

  17. The church Believes disputes are to be worked out between parties without recourse to the courts. Matthew Chapter 18 and 1 Corinthians Chapter 6. Accordingly, users of the facility agree to attempt resolution of any disputes through Christian mediation.
